wiki-litical?
In days of internet, computers and technologies like weblogs, Wiki sites and the like, we have experienced a change to the way we percieve information, knowledge, culture, communication. A new project, Campaigns Wikia, initiated by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, now reaches for an ambitious yet reasonable aim: Create an environment to get democracy back into politics, to include people into political activities again:
It’s time for politics to become more intelligent, and for democracy to really involve the people. Broadcast media tells you what to think and doesn’t let you get involved. It’s time to focus on what you need, what you care about, and the messages you want to get out.
Indeed, ambitious, but probably just the right thing at the right time. Perhaps the momentum generated by the public awareness of Wikipedia might suffice to win more than just a few enthusiasts for that project. At least, it’s worth giving a try.
