Lost in transit.
Moving.
Returning.
You're welcome.

Protocols, revisited.

Almost seven years later and I still then and now see "Protocols, Not Platforms" - https://knightcolumbia.org/content/protocols-not-platforms-a-technological-approach-to-free-speech - washed into my timelines. Almost seven years later, and, a bit more with every year to pass, I feel reminded of Ranums law and now also of a written conversation I used to have, yesterday. You can't solve social issues using technology. Extending this, it probably should be "People before Protocols" or maybe "Communities before Protocols". Not to talk down the value of open protocols compared to proprietary platforms and locked walled gardens, but still emphasizing that it's about technology to first and foremost serve a particular purpose for a particular set of people rather risking being too focused on technological aspects to a point where user needs might get lost down the road if they don't align with the technological architecture and approach envisioned.
